Dear Friends:

We are excited to announce the new season of USC Visions and Voices! Kick off the year at our annual arts extravaganza, “SPARK!,” with one of L.A.’s hottest bands, Chicano Batman. “SPARK!” will be held outside at the brand-new USC Village as part of their grand opening celebrations. Usually open to USC students only, we are thrilled to let you know that due to the increased capacity, the event will also be open to USC faculty and staff! Other events will feature the stunning Vancouver-based dance company, Ballet BC; U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera; a residency with distinguished Mexican photographer Graciela Iturbide; acclaimed actor John Cho; Theaster Gates, one of the most important public artists of our time; opera star Renée Fleming; Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist Hilton Als; Chicago’s hilarious dance-theatre company Lucky Plush Productions; a concert for social change with women artist/activists of color, including Maya Jupiter, Alice Bag, and Medusa; world-renowned environmental artist Olafur Eliasson; the fearless and groundbreaking RUBBERBANDance; Children’s Defense Fund founder Marian Wright Edelman; and a trip for USC students to see Hamilton! Check out our website at visionsandvoices.usc.edu for information on these events and the entire 2017-18 season. And be sure to mark your calendar with RSVP dates now. Enjoy the rest of your summer, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
